WHO? The Purple Mermaid Circus society is a student-run society at the University of Birmigham Guild of Students. Our website is http://www.purplemermaid.net WHAT? The Ballring is our annual circus convention. The convention is aimed at everyone from Professional performer types to "I've never touched a juggling ball before, what does it do?" types. During the day there are workshops where you can try something new or improve an existing skill. There is also a session of circus games in the late afternoon. After a break, there is the renegade show, where anyone can show off a new skill for prizes, followed by raffle prizes and a professional show. WHEN? The Ballring takes place on a Saturday in February. The event tends to start around 10.30 and finish around 20:30, then we all go for a curry. You're welcome to join us. WHERE? The Ballring takes place in the University of Birmingham Guild of Students. WHY? Because we're really awesome...
